Snider Farms “??” Annual Pig Roast

On September 5, we hosted our Snider Farms Annual Pig Roast.  We have lost track as to which ‘annual’ # should be attached to this event.  Isn’t that how it seems to go?  Sometimes I think thus and such was 5 years ago and then find written down that is was 10 or more years ago!!  This explains why people have birth certificates with official dates and the IRS forms have the year printed in bold at the top of the page- because people like me would just be having their 35th birthday over and over and  say, “I just filed my taxes, like 2 or 3 years ago.”

In spite of the debate on the actual number, we had a beautiful day on September 5 and a great turnout for the Pig Roast!

The best part about Pig Roast Day is getting to see and reconnect with fellow farm friends and neighbors.  And there were many! to hug and catch up with, for sure.

It was great to use our new shop and office center this year for hosting the Roast.  No one knows exactly how many friends joined us.  We have tried counting plates in the past but somehow with the spread of ‘bring a dish to pass’ and the roast pork & turkey, people (like me!) tend to grab just one more bite of something, so that tracking system isn’t quite accurate.

No matter the number….of people….or the actual year of the event, it is a special time for our family and our farm team to rub shoulders with  a part of the community we call “Ours”   We live in a great place to farm, to raise families and to do life.   It truly was a beautiful day in the neighborhood!
